Emergency Services Community Foodbank Run.

We have been asked if we would like to volunteer time for this event.

Wednesday 4th December early evening time. Advertised from 1800hrs till 1930hrs.

Meeting at shed from 1630hrs.

Trucks being used will need to be washed the day before unless people can get there earlier.

We will be given a route/s, depending on numbers available.

How it has worked in the passed is a services vehicle (USAR 1, 2 and/or 3) travels a given route with lights on an occasionally sounds the siren to alert the neighbourhood that we are there and other vehicle will follow with trailer and members collecting from the public as they come out to donate.

Things that will help are boxes, bins etc to put donated items in. These can be loaded into the back of the vehicle towing the trailer if need be.

Running shoes will be adviced instead of heavy boots for those doing the collecting.

As of 1200hrs Tuesday I am still waiting on meeting points and final areas (Maungatapu/Mt Maunganui).
