Assisting with Emergency Alerting Systems.

We will be driving around set routes with the stingers mounted on our vehicles. This will be a test for EMBOP to gauge if the system works and what may need to be done to improve etc....

Drivers will be required for each vehicle and a co-driver to operate the system.

Called to assist with medical event on a 4WD track on Mauao.

St John had responeded when a vehicle became available.

NZ-RT16 were depatched as St John didn't have a vehicle available to respond at the time of the call. RT16 were stood down once the patient was retrived by 4WD.

Cyclone Debbie had passed over New Zealand in early April bringing large amounts of rain to many parts of the country.
NZ-RT16 was deployed on Thursday night to provide swift water trained personnel to assist in the Eastern BOP flood recovery.
 
Thursday night training was altered to allow gear to be checked over before the early morning departure to NZ-RT17's base in Whakatane.
 
Deployment team met at our truck base at 0500hr on the 7th April to depart for Whakatane for team leaders meeting/briefing at 0800hrs. Team management received no written SMEAC briefing.
The team was tasked to do RDA's of the area north of Edgecumbe on the true left side of the Rangitaiki River. A call had gone out for members to deploy on Saturday.
Team arrived home at 1900hrs.
 
Saturday morining the team departed at 0700hrs for Whakatane and were tasked to do RDA's in area's of Taneatua and Thornton. A call again had gone out for members to deploy on Sunday.
Team arrived home at 1900hrs
 
Sunday morning the team departed at 0700hrs for Edgecumbe Fire Station and were tasked to escort residents in to their properties to collect much needed items, they had a maximun of 15 minutes to collect these items ie: medications & clothing etc..
Team arrived home 2000hrs.

Volunteers may be required to be part of rescue crews, mainly to right boats that have turned upside down.
You are guaranteed to get wet and be exhausted at the end of a shift.
Volunteers will be wanted at selected time slots.
