  • Sand bagging - walls, dykes, doorways, diversion
  • Water diversion

Competentcies obtained.

  • Operating Pumps (can prime pump, understands maintenance reqs)
  • Can divert water for salvage
  • Take part in forming a ring dyke

Light Rescue

  • Knots – common knots that the team uses
  • Anchors – W3P2, multi point, equalising two point  
  • Rigging – Building simple systems
  • MA systems – simple systems (3:1, 4;1, 5:1) & 9:1 compound

  • Single figure of 8 / Figure 8 on the bight / Rethreaded figure of 8
  • Joining figure of 8 (Figure 8 bend)

Media Night:

A reporter from SunLIve will be present to take pictures and interviews with members leading into National Volunteer Week and also the end of our recruitment campaign.

SunLive is owned by NZME (Hearld and BOP Times) so the story could be in any of these papers and websites.

 

We will be doing a ladder hinge for the night with report willing to be a patient for us.
