The course is NZQA unit standard 23695 - Provide companion animal welfare during a CDEM emergency delivered by Fire Rescue and First Response. This two day course teaches you to;
- demonstrate knowledge of ethical behaviour in relation to care and handling of companion animals
- receive companion animals at a welfare centre
- perform safe handling of companion animals
- care for companion animals on a daily basis during a CDEM emergency
- release companion animals from CDEM emergency custody
