Important Reminders

COURSE REQUIREMENT: To deliver chainsaw training at your site, an appropriate open space is required for
the practical components, along with suitable material to cut. Please provide enough wood for approximately 15-
20 cuts per trainee (around 2 metres per person). Wood posts are acceptable; however, we prefer tree lengths
with a minimum diameter of 150 mm. If using firewood, additional lengths may be required per trainee.

COURSE CONSIDERATION: Vertical Horizonz will have a chainsaw and a full set of chainsaw equipment.
However, we recommend learners bring their own chainsaw and PPE for use during training. All equipment
must be compliant. Steel-capped boots are required for each trainee.

ENTRY CRITERIA:
Attendees must be aged 15 years or older to participate in this course (as per WorkSafe requirements).
The course requires a level of fitness to demonstrate competency for the skill being trained.
Arrival Time
It is important to be on time, ideally arriving 15 mins before the course starts. Late arrivals may be refused admission.
Food
Lunch is not provided on our courses (unless previously arranged with VHNZ).
Clothing and Footwear Requirements
Please ensure you wear appropriate attire and closed?toe footwear when attending courses at any VHNZ Training
Centre, including for theory?based courses. Some external worksites and training venues may also require closed
footwear or specific attire. Any additional attire or PPE requirements for specific practical courses will be listed in your
course confirmation email.
Course Content and Learning Support
Our courses can include both practical and theory components. A suitable level of reading, writing, and an
understanding of spoken and written English is required. Please contact us before your course if you have any
concerns or additional needs. We usually need 14 days’ notice to explore support options, but we understand this isn’t
always possible and will do our best to help regardless.

Certificates
Your electronic certificate will be emailed to you within 10 business days from the date of successful course completion.
If you need urgent evidence of completion before your certificate arrives, please contact the VHNZ team to request this.
