CONFIRMED.

Emergency Services Community Foodbank Run.

Gordon Spratt Reserve 1730hrs briefing, then deploy to start run by 1800hrs.

We are suppling 3 lead vehicles and personnel, we do not need to supply private vehicles and trailers as Neighbourhood Support have covered that.

Leaving from the shed we will then convoy to Gordon Spratt Reserve and deploy from there to an area west of there in the Papamoa area. We will have a private vehicle and trailer driven from someone from neighbourhood support to follow one of our vehicles.

USAR3 will be driven by Jon and joining the Papamoa East area.

It would be a good idea to have a reusable type bag to carry donated items in, before transferring to the trailer.

Meeting at shed from 1630hrs.

How it has worked in the passed is a services vehicle (USAR 1, 2 and/or 3) travels a given route with lights on and sounds the siren to alert the neighbourhood that we are there and another vehicle will follow with trailer and members collecting from the public as they come out to donate.

NOTES for 2020.
Collect packaging boxes from DomSalt
Packaging tape and dispenser to retape boxes.
Boxes are lower than banana boxes but are sturdy when the lid is folded inside.
They can stack on top of each other easily.
Allow for traffic at that time of afternoon for those getting to meeting points.

Debrief notes:
Carry bag or box for collectors?
USAR3 has intercom speaker fitted.
USAR1 need to check if intercom fitted.
USAR1 & USAR2 do have hand held loadhailers. To inform public that it is a food driv not a Tsunami.
Signs made up to put on sides of vehicles saying what we are collecting for.
Some tinsel on trucks.
High side trailers need to remove back gate.
Try and get confirmation of routes from organisers early?

Emergency Services Community Foodbank Run.

We have been asked if we would like to volunteer time for this event.

Wednesday 4th December early evening time. Advertised from 1800hrs till 1930hrs.

Meeting at shed from 1630hrs.

Trucks being used will need to be washed the day before unless people can get there earlier.

We will be given a route/s, depending on numbers available.

How it has worked in the passed is a services vehicle (USAR 1, 2 and/or 3) travels a given route with lights on an occasionally sounds the siren to alert the neighbourhood that we are there and other vehicle will follow with trailer and members collecting from the public as they come out to donate.

Things that will help are boxes, bins etc to put donated items in. These can be loaded into the back of the vehicle towing the trailer if need be.

Running shoes will be adviced instead of heavy boots for those doing the collecting.

Please register so we can get an idea of numbers.

As of 1200hrs Tuesday I am still waiting on meeting points and final areas (Maungatapu/Mt Maunganui).
